Top state schools in London for A-Levels
In mid-August every year hundreds of thousands of young people across the country nervously collect their A-level results. Hard work and dedication are the keys to success, but there’s another variable that’s sometimes overlooked: where they live.
In 2022, the southeast and London were top of the class for A-level results: nearly 40% of students sitting their exams in the two most affluent English regions achieved A* or A grades. The same was true of just 31% of those taking A-levels in the north-east, which propped up the national league table.
London’s impressive selection of state schools is reflected in its table-topping position – so, let’s look at some of the top performers.
