Notting Hill – elegance and charm in Central London

This charming area, made famous by the film, is popular for both its English residents and expatriates alike.

This area has kept its Jamaican heritage with the annual Carnival, which takes place on the last weekend of August.

Shopping on Ledbury Road and Westbourne Grove will satisfy any lover of trendy boutiques.

There are also many restaurants and cafés as well as English pubs; some with little gardens at the back which are much loved by the English, whatever the weather. There is something for everyone and for all budgets here.

Holland Park and the huge Hyde Park are very close-by for long walks in the fresh air or daily jogs.

Finally, the Electric Cinema is a trendy, old-fashioned cinema where you can watch a film lounged on the comfortable sofas whilst eating dinner or sipping a glass of wine.

For housing, there are lots of spectacular Victorian terrace houses (Ledbury Road, Westbourne Grove) as well as more modest builds around Portobello, and a good number of council estates in the north, towards Ladbroke Grove.

To rent, it will cost around £2,500 per month (or more) for a 3 bedroom apartment.

To buy, it will cost at least £800,000 for a 3 bedroom apartment.
