Belsize Park: the little sister of Hampstead in North West London

Contrary to what its name might lead you to believe, Belsize Park is not a park, nor is it particularly close to a park! This area, located in the north-west of London, despite not being as well-known to expats as Hampstead, has a certain charm about it, as well as a number of advantages in comparison to Hampstead.

The area is surrounded by a major road, Haverstock Hill. Having said this, there are many charming boutiques, restaurants and cafés with terraces (a plus for London) along this road. Perpendicular to this road are quiet forested residential roads, full of magnificent Victorian houses.

A bit further along, away from the traffic, you can find Belsize Village, a little cul-de-sac of houses and multicoloured boutiques.

The great advantage of Belsize Park is that the properties are more affordable than in its big sister, Hampstead. Towards the north, a few minutes by bus, you can easily reach the beautiful Hampstead village. A few minutes walk to the west is Finchley Road and all its shops, supermarkets, cinemas etc., and to the east is the eclectic Kentish Town.

The huge Hampstead Heath park is also just a few minutes away by bus to the North, as well as Primrose Hill and its magnificent views across London.

Finally, Belsize Park is along the Northern Line, giving it quick and easy access to Central London. A popular spot for professionals working in the City and young families.

Costing around £2,000 per month to rent a 2 bedroom apartment, and £3,000 per month for a well-sized 3 bedroom.
